Psychology

Students must complete a total of 33 credit hours, including courses in research and across a variety of psychology topics.  Students who take one of the introductory courses–PSY 101 General Psychology or PSY 205 Human Development–will be prepared for most of courses in the program, making the course offerings accessible to minors and students with an interest in taking electives in the field.

Required Courses

Expand your knowledge through the study of the counseling theories, recovery process, pharmacology, addiction, prevention, and more. This program offers over xx hours of learning in various courses to enhance ethical standards, interpersonal skills, and communication with individuals in need of resources and professionals in the mental health field. This experience affords the student with a wealth of knowledge and opportunities to experience the real life nature of the professional world.

A psychology minor is available for non-psychology majors. A minor in psychology can supplement a bachelor’s degree in almost any subject. A psychology minor can enhance your understanding of human behavior, so consider adding this minor if you plan to pursue careers where interacting with people is a main part of the job. Some degrees that you could combine with a psychology minor include: Business, Education, Nursing, Criminal Justice

A psychology minor consists 18 credit hours: PSY 101 General Psychology, 9 elective hours in PSY courses at the 300 level and above, and 6 elective hours at any level.
